A Special Sale by Jo-Ann Forster and Lauren Allan
A true gem built by Parker in the 1960s. Alfred Browning Parker’s one-of-a-kind former home in Coconut Grove just sold for $2.05 million. ONE Sotheby’s International Realty agents made this possible, Jo-Ann Forster and Lauren Allan represented the buyers and Gary Hecht and Sylvia Cherry the sellers.
Woodsong was built by Parker for himself in the late 1960s and has been tastefully updated over the years, remaining one of the most unique homes in Miami. It’s located near Ransom Everglades School at 3003 Seminole Street. The famous 3,100 sf residence offers multiple pavilions connected by a 90-foot lap pool, with a koi lagoon, waterfall, and tropical surroundings. The vibrant home was constructed with Honduran mahogany and features large windows, welcoming in the lush exterior. It was named to Wallpaper Magazine’s “ten best residential builds” in the world back in a 2006 issue. A modernist architect influenced by Frank Lloyd Wright, Parker was one of the most iconic architects in South Florida before passing away in 2011.
